Secret Photo Locations

The iconic viewpoint you see in every Moraine Lake postcard. A short 300m hike up a maintained trail leads to an elevated platform overlooking the lake and all Ten Peaks. Arrive at least 1 hour before official sunrise for the best spots.

Most photographers rush past this spot to reach the summit. The lower ledge offers unique foreground elements including distinctive rock formations and closer access to the water's edge for reflection shots.

Walk along the shoreline path toward the canoe dock area. Several spots here offer incredible reflection opportunities, especially on calm mornings. The driftwood and rocks create natural foreground interest.

Before the rental opens, the colorful canoes create an iconic foreground. The dock extends into the water, giving you access to perspectives others can't reach. Capture the canoes with the peaks behind for a classic shot.

The start of the Consolation Lakes trail offers unique shots framed by ancient larch trees. In September-October, the golden larches add stunning color. Less crowded than the rockpile with equally impressive views.

Follow the lakeshore trail until you're directly beneath the Tower of Babel. Looking back toward the lodge gives you a unique angle on the peaks most people never see. Requires early arrival and adventurous spirit.
