Wildlife Safety
Moraine Lake is home to bears, moose, and other wildlife. Early mornings are prime activity time.
Stay Alert
Keep your eyes and ears open. Wildlife can appear anywhere, even in parking areas. Our guides watch for activity and will alert you.
Keep Distance
Stay at least 100 meters from bears and wolves, 30 meters from elk and deer. If wildlife approaches, move away calmly.
Make Noise
When walking, talk at normal volume. Surprise encounters are the most dangerous. Our groups naturally provide safety in numbers.
Carry Bear Spray
If you plan any extended walks, bear spray is essential. Know how to use it. Our guides carry spray on all tours.
